The second EP from FRAN LOBO.

Supported by the PRS Women Make Music Fund and inspired by the empowerment and inspiration of women working in music and art, The EP serves as a celebration of the incredible work created by women in the industry. Featuring collaborations with two of her most favourite female artists, Auclair and Hannah Holland, the EP also showcases Fran's love of dance and electronic music.

With dark, soulfully powerful vocals, south London-based singer songwriter Fran Lobo entrances you with sounds full of haunting harmonies, synth hooks and vintage keytars which rock your soul and are completely hypnotic. Melancholic and dramatic, Lobo’s sound, influenced by the Queen tracks she listened to when she was younger, as well as Bjork and PJ Harvey, shows it’s dynamism in her new “Surround” EP. Full of growling basslines, warped double vocals and her exploration of dance and electronica, it’s a complete channelling of emotion that takes you through the twists and turns of her life and provides a beautifully cathartic listening experience.

Fran Lobo introduced herself last year with her debut EP 'Beautiful Blood', a provocative document that was impossible to pin down.Based in South London, the talented songwriter and producer seemed entirely at ease with bringing together opposites - from Pixies' style alt rock, through to fragrant electronics. New EP 'Surround' is a spectacular three-part affair, honing in on Fran Lobo's electronic abstraction. 'Surround x Auclair' (Remix) premieres on Clash, and it's oblique sense of digital soul results in some wonderfully eerie scenes. Similar in approach to aspects of Jessy Lanza's work, the shuffling rhythm casts 80s machine funk in a state of perpetual evolution.
